Have a question about your heart or cholesterol report? Speak with a cardiologist directly.
Welcome
Gokul Heart & Cholesterol Clinic sits at KSR Square in KPHB Colony, Kukatpally. It looks after two closely linked problems that most clinics treat separately: heart disease and abnormal cholesterol. Patients often arrive for a second opinion on an angiogram. Others come because a routine lipid profile returned confusing numbers. Some arrive because nobody has properly explained their chest pain.
Consultations run in the evening. This timing suits working patients across KPHB, Kukatpally, Miyapur and Nizampet who would otherwise take a day off. Every consultation is with a DM-qualified cardiologist and lipidologist. Each cardiologist explains reports in plain language, using English or Telugu. Patients also learn what their numbers mean for the next five years.
The clinic covers prevention and early detection as thoroughly as it covers treatment. That means high BP that refuses to settle, or cholesterol that stays high despite medication. It also covers family history of early heart attack, breathlessness on exertion, blackouts, and leg pain while walking. Each concern gets a structured evaluation rather than a quick prescription refill.
Where a procedure becomes necessary, both cardiologists step in directly. They perform angiography, angioplasty and device implantation at partner hospitals, and continue your follow-up back at the clinic.
Meet the cardiologists
Both specialists work together as a combined cardiologist and lipidologist team for heart and cholesterol care.
Dr. Arun Kumar Kamisetty has spent over 15 years diagnosing and treating heart conditions of every kind. As a practising lipidologist, his particular focus is complex coronary intervention and cholesterol disorders.
Career to date includes Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Apollo Hospitals, Secunderabad, from 2017 to 2020. He then served as Senior Interventional Cardiologist and Head of Cardiology at GEM'S Medical College, Srikakulam. This role ran from 2020 to 2022. Since 2022, the role has been Senior Consultant Cardiologist at Apollo Hospitals, alongside practice at Gokul Heart & Cholesterol Clinic.
Procedural expertise covers coronary and peripheral angiograms, plus angioplasty (PTCA) and primary PCI for heart attack. It also includes left main PCI, complex PCI using rotablation and intravascular lithotripsy, and IVUS- or OCT-guided intervention. Further skills cover chronic total occlusion (CTO) work, bifurcation PCI and pacemaker implantation. Partner hospitals host these procedures, and follow-up continues at the KPHB clinic.
Dr. Arun explains every finding in plain language, with evening appointment slots that suit working patients.
Dr. Naga Chaitanya Karella specialises in cholesterol disorders, high BP and structural heart conditions. Her 12 years of experience cover dyslipidaemia, resistant hypertension, coronary artery disease and peripheral arterial disease. She won the gold medal in DM Cardiology (2017–2020) for topping KNR University of Health Sciences. That same academic rigour shapes her everyday patient care.
Previous appointments include Consultant Cardiologist at GEMS Medical College, Srikakulam (2020–2022) and Interventional Cardiologist at Aster MIMS Hospital, Calicut, Kerala (2022–2024). The current role is Chief Interventional Cardiologist at Dhruva Hospitals, alongside practice at Gokul Heart & Cholesterol Clinic.
Procedural expertise covers coronary and peripheral angiograms, angioplasty (PTCA) and primary PCI. It also spans left main PCI, IVUS- and OCT-guided intervention, and chronic total occlusion (CTO) work. Further skills include bifurcation PCI and pacemaker implantation. These procedures take place at partner hospitals, and her follow-up continues at the KPHB clinic.
Her published research spans two peer-reviewed papers. The first is a case report on an AP window manifesting as Eisenmenger syndrome in an adolescent female. This case appeared in the Indian Journal of Cardiovascular Sciences (IJCS). The second reviews clinical and angiographic outcomes for bifurcation lesions treated by TAP stenting as a two-stent strategy. This study appeared in the Journal of Preventive Cardiology & Sciences (JPCS).
Conditions we treat
Each condition has a dedicated page explaining symptoms, tests and treatment options from our cardiologist and lipidologist team.
Inside the clinic
Advanced imaging such as CT coronary angiography needs a partner hospital visit. The same applies to interventional procedures like angioplasty, stenting and device implantation. Your consulting cardiologist or lipidologist arranges and oversees each referral personally.
